Engagement Stories: Sarah & Joe
This month's Engagement Story is about a beautiful couple who makes beautiful music together. After years of friendship, these two fell in love, and got married almost a year and a half ago. Everyone, meet Sarah and Joe!
How did you first meet?
We first met through mutual friends at The Station Inn in Nashville, TN. It is still one of our favorite places to go see music together!
What did you do on your first date?
We had been friends for years, but on our first 'official' date we went to the Capital Grille for brunch. After brunch, Joe had a gig in downtown Nashville that he was running late to. He surprised me by letting me drive his car to take myself home. Ha! I still don't let him live this one down!
When did you know they were the one?
Sarah: I knew about a month into us dating. Joe went to Boston for a wedding. I just missed him so much and had no idea I had gotten as attached as I had already. It hit me like a ton of bricks.
Joe: I knew as soon as we started dating that my life as I knew it was about to be turned upside down.
How did he propose?
Joe proposed on his family's farm in Anniston, Alabama on Thanksgiving day. We had spent about an hour walking around during the beautiful fall afternoon, and then he surprised me with a ring!
What are some things you enjoy doing together?
We love to play music together! We also love to cook, work in our garden, take walks, and to work tirelessly on our new home.
What is your favorite thing about him/her?
Sarah: My favorite thing about Joe is how fun he makes our day in and day out routine. What could easily become very boring and mundane and 'chore-like' is always brightened by his life-loving spirit.
Joe: My favorite thing about Sarah is that she is always helping and encouraging me to become a better husband, friend, and son. I learn so much every day about how to be happier, make others happier, and be the best all around person I can be.
